Practice Management

Practice Management

“The secret of success is to do the common things uncommonly well.” – John D. Rockefeller

With Athena on your team, you will spend far less time worrying about the day-to-day headaches and financial future of your practice. You’ll be free to concentrate on what’s most important: your chair-side relationship with your patients and their oral health.

That’s the Athena difference: She’s as attentive to her clients as you are to yours. Every dentist has different challenges and aspirations, so Athena will specifically structure your dental-consulting program to address your special issues.

  • Initial on-site practice analysis: Athena will review your office systems, meet with the staff individually, study your scheduling techniques, gather data from your records – and spend several hours with you, to learn your perceived challenges, immediate issues and where you would like to take your practice. She will evaluate your staff members to ensure that your team is right for your unique practice. This process requires two or three days in your practice during her first visit, depending on the size of your dental team.
  • Business plan: With a detailed, easy-to-understand blueprint in hand, you will understand the full scope of management you need in your office. You’ll learn skills and tools necessary to operate the practice now and throughout your future.
  • Strategic planning: You (and your spouse) and Athena will discuss strategies for your practice’s future success. Your questions at this session will clarify your role as the doctor and practice owner as well as the management principles to be implemented in your office.
  • Implementation: Based on your needs, financial analysis and strategic-planning session, Athena will design a schedule to train, coach and implement her recommendations in your practice. All clients receive extensive monitoring of their practice, its finances and performance, as well as team-training materials, fee review and recommendations, and much more.
  • Duration: Successful practice management is not an event. This program will be a process requiring a minimum of one year, but it varies greatly depending on your commitment, needs and logistics. Generally, the management follow-up process will continue until you and your staff are completely comfortable and the practice is operating efficiently and profitably.
  • Investment: Athena likes to say that her dental-practice management consulting is free since most of her clients follow her recommendations and make more in their first year of management alone than they invest with her. Her non-refundable fees are due at the beginning of your program. This assures us you will remain focused on your commitment to succeed. Financing is available through several lenders.

Athena’s dental-practice management is based on sound business planning, thorough implementation, training and coaching for success and follow-through. She’ll be right there in the trenches with you and your staff.
